Oil Spill Prevention, Clean-up and Reporting: What Federal EPA Requires

Tuesday, January 8, 2013, 2:00PM - 3:30PM ET

During this informative, 90-minute webinar, EPA’s SPCC Technical Team Leader will give you the exact information you need on federal Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure (SPCC) program requirements. This program applies in all 50 states and regulates any jobsite that has the capacity to store more than 1,320 gallons of oil.  Since EPA’s Nov. 2011 compliance deadline, ALL “regulated” jobsites must have a compliant SPCC Plan in place before starting work.   Don’t miss this opportunity to get your real-world SPCC issues addressed by EPA’s SPCC leader.   Learn need-to-know  strategies to keep your construction jobsite compliant.

  • Easy to understand explanation of EPA’s rules (straight out of EPA’s mouth)
  • Specific answer to exactly what “oil” substances are regulated (asphalt cement is on the list!)
  • What EPA is looking for when it does  a site inspection (see real-life pictures of common violations)
  • Clear guidelines for developing your site’s SPCC Plan (template are available for low-risk sites)
  • Secondary containment requirements you need to know now

What AGC Contractors Are Saying?

“It was good to hear Mark Howard from US EPA present at AGC of America's 2012 Contractors Environmental Conference this past June. As a contractor, SPCC is a difficult and intimidating program that we use to manage an array of petroleum products stored in different shapes and sizes. Mark’s presentation was easy to follow and helped me to confirm my company’s current practices. Of particular benefit was the open question and answer forum when he provided candid and tangible responses to grey area inquiries. I found it very helpful to have Mark Howard’s insight on such an all-encompassing program.”

Chris Monahan, Environmental Manager, The LANE Construction Corp.

“The US EPA's SPCC presentation – previously presented “live” at AGC's 2012 Environmental Conference – provided conference attendees with a thorough review of the regulation that included a nuts and bolts applicability for our industry. The approachable nature of the presentation format provided additional opportunity to delve into some of the esoteric nuances of the regulation which can have a significant impact on the manner and flexibility of implementation of the regulation for our own companies.”

Adrienne N. Coppock, Environmental Manager, APAC Missouri and Kansas City

“Having attended many seminars on environmental regulatory compliance over the past 15 years, it was refreshing to hear US EPA's Mark Howard speak with such a clear and down to earth style about a complex set of regulations that have caught some contractors quite unaware. Those new to this regulation will find his presentation easy to understand and if you have questions, you won't need a dictionary and a law book to figure out what he's saying!”

Jo Moore, Environmental Director, Ranger Construction Industries, Inc.
