The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Labor and Employment Law Council (LELC) is a network of experienced construction labor and employment attorneys from across the U.S. who regularly represent local AGC chapters and member companies. The LELC is pleased to present its 28th Annual Construction Labor Law Symposium, a professional development and networking opportunity for attorneys and labor relations managers, this year with an added feature of an optional pre–symposium Multiemployer Pension Workshop.
This event is specifically for attorneys and labor relations managers. AGC Labor and Employment Law Council members, other attorneys who regularly represent AGC chapters or member companies in labor and employment matters (in–house or outside counsel), labor relations managers employed by AGC member contractors or AGC chapters, and AGC chapter executives are invited to attend.
While participation by seasoned attorneys has ensured a high level of discussion at past symposiums – making the event an annual standard for senior–level construction labor lawyers – the program also offers a rare educational opportunity for junior partners and senior associates to learn more about traditional labor issues in the construction industry. To help make this opportunity more accessible and to encourage returning attendees to bring such colleagues with them, a registration discount is offered for multiple registrants from the same law office. A dinner discount is also offered to first–time registrants and their guests.

Business attire is encouraged for the Thursday evening events. Business casual attire is welcome for all Symposium and Workshop educational sessions and the Executive Committee meeting.
The registration fees for LELC members in good standing and AGC chapter staff is $235 for the Symposium and $100 for the Multiemployer Pension Workshop. For others, the fee is $285 for the Symposium and $150 for the Workshop. A multiple registrants discount is offered for additional registrants from the same office (not just same firm). See the registration form for details. Registration includes lunch on Thursday (for Multiemployer Pension Workshop registrants), the reception on Thursday (for all registrants), and both breakfast and lunch on Friday (for Symposium registrants). Spouses, local business associates, and other guests are welcome to attend the reception for an additional $25 each. Dinner is open to all registrants and guests at a cost of $110 each (whether registrant or guest) or just $55 for first-time registrants (but not their guests). Dinner is complimentary for speakers and current LELC officers.
The program is not pre-approved as a credit-providing program, but attendees typically receive continuing legal education credit post-attendance by following their respective bar associations’ requirements for such matters. Attendees are responsible for ascertaining and completing such requirements. Upon request after the symposium, AGC staff can assist by signing any necessary forms or providing other verification of attendance.
Register by March 26. Click here to register online now, or click here to download a form for mail-in or fax-in registration. For registration assistance or cancellation, contact Crystal Yates at yatesc@agc.org. Full refunds will be granted for cancellations made by confirmed e-mail if the request is submitted by April 9, 2012. Refunds will not be granted for requests after this date, and cancellations will not be accepted by the telephone.
